Volunteers play a critical role on race day. This race would not be successful without many volunteers. The volunteer positions are described below. All volunteers will receive a volunteer specific Bulldog Race shirt that should be worn on race day. If you have questions, please contact the volunteer coordinator, Kelly Bails, at kelly@coachbails.com or 217-840-8082. We hope you'll consider volunteering for our 2014 race.

Race Day Registration

  • Check in pre-registered participants and give them race shirt, race bib and corresponding timing chip
  • Register new participants, collect money, assign bib and timing chip, and give out race shirt.

Aid Station

  • Help set-up table and fill cups of water 2/3 full
  • Hand-out water to runners
  • Clean-up aid station

Traffic Control

  • Must be minimum of 16 years old
  • Direct runners, monitor, and hold traffic

Kids Fun Run

  • Assist in organizing kids running events
  • Help line kids up at start
  • Hand out ribbons at finish line

Finish Line

  • Remove timing chips from runners shoes
  • Direct runners to cafeteria

Post Race Refreshments

  • Set-up in the cafeteria starting at 8:30 (MSJH detention ends at 9:00, so no runners can enter the cafeteria before 9:00 a.m.)
  • Manage food tables - opening containers, removing empty packages, making sure there is water in the bins
  • Clean-up
